Fairymount Fae Tiny Companions — A Journey to the Outer Hebrides

Fairymount Fae Tiny Companions — A Journey to the Outer Hebrides

There are places that live in the blood before they live in the memory.

The Outer Hebrides is one of those places for me. Long before I ever researched my ancestry, something in me already knew those windswept moorlands, those skies heavy with Atlantic light, those hills purple with heather stretching down to the sea. When my DNA results confirmed what I had always suspected and hoped for, a genetic thread running back to the Western Isles of Scotland, something settled in me. A homecoming without a journey.

It was only natural, then, that the fae would find their way there too.

Where the Fae and the Coos Meet

The Fairymount Fae Tiny Companions — Outer Hebrides collection is my homage to my genetic history, my love for the fae and of course, cows. It began as an idea, late at night: what if the fairy folk of Fairymount had wandered north, following the old ley lines to the islands? What would they find there?

They would find the Highland cattle, of course. The coos.

I love Highland cattle, their shaggy coats, their patient eyes, their ancient, unhurried presence in the landscape. There is something deeply fae about them, I think. They belong to a world that moves at a different pace, where time is measured in seasons and tides rather than minutes.

In this collection, the fae and the coos have found each other. They rest together in the heather, walk side by side into the Atlantic sunset, press their foreheads together in quiet communion beneath the mountains. They are settled with each other, happily existing together, enjoying their world

The Collection

The Fairymount Fae Tiny Companions — Outer Hebrides collection includes six original digital art prints, each one a scene from this imagined world where ancestry, folklore, and the wild beauty of the Western Isles converge:

  • Heather & the Fae — a fairy at rest among the purple moorland heather
  • The Ginger Coo — Sunset Walk — fairy and coo walking together into the golden Atlantic light
  • The Ginger Calf — Nose to Nose — a tender first meeting in the heather
  • The Cream Coo — Mountain Embrace — quiet communion beneath the ancient Hebridean peaks
  • Black Coo at Sunset — stillness at the edge of the world
  • The Dark Coo — Heather & Storm — wild kinship in the brooding Hebridean light

Each print is available as a digital download in A4, A3, Square, and Professional PDF print formats — ready to bring a little Hebridean magic into your home.

A Note on the Work

This collection was created with AI-assisted design tools, blending my creative vision with the landscapes and folklore that have shaped Enchanted Celtic from the beginning. As always, the stories, the world-building, and the heart behind each image are entirely my own.

I hope these prints carry something of what I feel when I think of those islands — that quiet sense of belonging to a place you have never stood in, but somehow always known.

With love from Fairymount,
Helen
